Mozhdah Jan is an Afghan singer who has recently performed at several concerts across North America on tour with Habib Qaderi. In a recent interview with Afghan-TV.com mozhdah jan described her early childhood in Afghanistan growing up in a well respected and highly educated family. In early 1990's Mozhdah jan's family moved to Canada where she embarked on the journey of not only adapting to a new culture, new country but also learn more about the country she left behind. Classic singers such as marhoom Ahmad Zahir still blares from her car stereos and posters of various classical singers still adorns her studio. It was after her high school graduation that she decided to pursue Music as a career. She joined University of British Columbia studying Journalism as well as Music. She graduated with merit from the Vancouver's Operah house, where she learnt to sing classical english music. But within her she wanted to contribute to the vast and multifaceted Afghan music culture. Today with a new Album close to release, Afghan-TV.com wishes Mozhdah Jan all the future success and for her amazing journey through life's meanderous paths to learn music, we dedicate this section to her.
